Tennis Player Sloan Stephens beats Madison Keys to claim the US Open Champion title. She started out as ranking 83rd and now at number 17 and is also the third American woman to win a Major since Jennifer Capriati in 2002; Serena and Venus Williams have both won the title.
This is the 24 year old’s first major Grand Slam title and her coach Kamau Murray said he was very surprised how quickly she wanted to get back into training after her surgery back in January.
“I didn’t play my best tennis today and was disappointed, but Sloane, being the great friend she was, was very supportive,” a very emotional Madison Keys said, “If there is someone I have to lose to today, I’m glad it’s her.”
